Even mightier than the pen!
It felt very strange today. I only missed one week, last week due to the ongoing generosity and kindness of these two wonderful congregations, but it felt like a month or maybe a year.
We took a look at a portion of the book of Hebrews. I really like the book of Hebrews but it poses some unique challenges to those of us in this century who do not have a Jewish background. The (anonymous) author of Hebrews is writing to Jewish Christians and as such, presupposes a lot of shared knowledge and experience. This week I try to open up the image of Jesus as High Priest a bit for all of us.

On another note, what with this missing week being so problematic I even managed to leave my usual recording device at home so the two sermons this week were recorded on my phone, if the they are better or worse, please let me know.
