Which one am I?
Today is the day The Presbyterian Church in Canada’s marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. It is on September 27 because this is the Sunday closest to September 30. The service began with a reading and a prayer, which I have uploaded below.

The sermon was not drawn from the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, although the topic does come up. Rather the sermon comes from one of Jesus’ parables, the parable is usually called the Parable of the Two Sons. In the parable a father asks one son to go work in the vineyard, the son says, “Nah, I won’t,” but then he goes. The father asks the other son to go work in the vineyard, this son says, “Yes I will,” but then he doesn’t go at all. The question is asked, “Which son does what the father wanted?”
The sermon looks at the parable and asks, I ask, which son am I? Give the sermon a listen and let me know if I was clear about the two sons and which one any of us might be. Drop me a line about the sermon as you are inclined and able.
