What to do

Trinity Sunday comes every year and I’m glad it does. If you look back over the past years you will find a number of sermons I have preached looking at the Trinity as a doctrine and what it means to me, to you, to us.
This year is a departure from most (all?) past Trinity Sundays.
The Presbyterian Church in Canada is one of the denominations with residential schools in its history. This is nothing to be proud of but neither is it something to be hidden. As a consequence of this blot on our history, this Sunday is also Healing and Reconciliation Sunday. The “What to do” sermon title came to me as both a question and a statement; how to bring the Trinity and Healing and Reconciliation Sunday together?
I’m not convinced I got it fully correct but I took an honest run at it and I’d be happy to hear what anyone else thinks of how I did.
This week has an additional recording, namely the “Prayer of Lament for children who did not return from residential schools” as it was prayed in the service by me. It is the first recording below.
