I was thinking seriously about putting in the definition of hiatus or some such nonsense when my better self won out.
I was away from my two congregations for most of January for reasons of work and weather. This was the first Sunday back after two weeks away and I think it shows. There is something to be said for consistency and currency when it comes to preaching; it isn’t that without those two things you cannot preach well but rather, with those two things you will preach better, at least I will.
A very expansive and grateful “Thank you” to both Knox and St. Mark’s for their care and concern that I not travel when such movement might be dangerous and also that I care well for the responsibilities involved with my other job.
Thank you and I am looking forward to getting back into a good rhythm.
Blessings,
Barry
