Words From the Middle

At the intersection of Sacred and Profane

2012/12/30

Remember

Poppy

Just so you have a bit of warning, this might be the first of several notifications you get as I try to “sort of” catch up.

Part of me says, “Hey! You are so far behind, why even bother?” but there is another part of me that says, even if there hasn’t been a cry of outrage at the lack of Words From the Middle posts that doesn’t mean that there aren’t folks who have been missing them. So, I’m going to get them caught up, in a very skim over the top kind of way and see if I can do without this unintentional hiatus in 2012.

Remembrance Day is one of those peculiar days when it falls on a Sunday. Don’t get me wrong, I think that Remembrance Day is very significant and very important. What can make it problematic is the always troublesome relationship between Christian people and armed conflict. It is my contention that the most important thing for this day is to remember.
