I like this week’s blog post title because for me, at least, spiritual gifts never do get old. I can think about them and talk about them a lot but there are always new things to consider; new aspects to ponder.
This Sunday’s sermons are more of a reminder than anything else. A reminder of three salient facts about spiritual gifts.
- We all have spiritual gifts
- It is okay that we might not know exactly what gift(s) are ours so go ahead and experiment with them; play with them even
- It is only through the exercise of all of our gifts that the church can be truly whole
For anyone who has sat under my preaching for a year or more, either in person or via recordings, you have heard variations on this theme and these three points already. However, I think I was able to come at some new stuff this time around so I hope you find value and encouragement about your own spiritual gifts here.
Knox Presbyterian Let’s talk gifts . . . again
St. Mark’s Presbyterian Let’s talk gifts . . . again
As always please feel free to let me know what you think about either or both of these sermons.
Blessings,
PS Next week will be the last time I preach, as far as I know, in August as I will be taking some time off to go to the lovely city of Vancouver with some of my family to see some other parts of my family. Just a heads up in case you need one.
