Let’s talk about faith . . .

Finally! Caught up, here’s hoping I won’t have to ever do that again.

This week we are in Hebrews 11, the “Faith chapter” as it was often called when I was in Bible school, so it shouldn’t be much of a surprise that we are talking about faith. What makes this week’s sermons interesting is that the title is very much what they are, i.e. “Let’s talk about faith . . .”, a talk. Now I know that some people would suggest that there is no difference between a talk and a lecture and a sermon but there is a difference, or at least there should be. What makes this week’s sermons more of a talk, but still I hope sermons, is that there isn’t an obvious move to an application, an inexorable path that takes us to the point* rather there was a much more organic “talk” that took us to the final point.

If you are so inclined, I would be happy to hear what you think of this sort of sermon whether you think it is good or bad.

Blessings,

My signature - small*I hasten to add that I very seldom have an obvious, let alone inexorable, movement to the finale but I do have a very clear idea of where I want us all to end up.
