We sometimes lose sight of how important love really is. We are coming up on Valentine’s Day but I’m not thinking only of romantic love. I don’t have anything against romantic love, I think it is great, but our New Testament text, 1 Corinthians 13, talks about a love that includes romantic love but is SO much bigger than only romance and fluttery feelings.
It might be going too far to say love is the foundation of everything that ultimately matters but I don’t think so. If God is willing to identify Godself as Love then I think it is impossible to overestimate the value and power of love.
This sermon is talking about love. Love from the broadest perspective I could manage. Let me know what you think.
