This is one of those Sundays that functionally didn’t exist in the churches in which I grew up. We paid very little attention to the church year and as such the notion that the last Sunday of the year might have been in November would have been hooted at. However, I must say that of all the richness that the church year has given to me, this “off set” calendar is one of the ones I appreciate the most.
