Words From the Middle

At the intersection of Sacred and Profane

2020/11/01

A saint!? Where?

There aren’t that many liturgically significant days attached to the calendar, Christmas Day and All Saints Day are the only two leaping to mind at the moment. It is always a delight when All Saints Day is on a Sunday.

This Sunday we celebrated All Saints by spending some time thinking about what it means to be a saint. The colloquial definition, an especially holy person who is now dead, is neither complete nor helpful. When we look at saints in Scripture we see most of them are people, people just like us.

Give this week’s sermon a listen and I’d be happy to have a conversation with you if you think I missed something or could have expressed things better, I am always happy to talk and I very much like to learn.
